Can you believe we are about a month away until we enter spring?! I cannot wait to bring out my cute spring/summer pieces. And to be tan again. I especially cannot wait for that. This weekend was beautiful and I was so excited to be able to final wear my floral dress from Anthropologie!
Every year, I look forward to the NYFW held in February more because of all the fun prints and colors that will be trending for that upcoming spring! This year was no different, with a ton of bold colors and prints.
From khakis being the new denim and lots and lots of shades of pinks and blues to phone cases. Yes, phone cases are apparently the new IT bag of 2017. Below I am sharing 5 of my favorite trends that I will be looking forward to in 2017, that can actually be worn by everyday folks, so let’s get started!
1. Athleisure Wear
Athleisure wear has gotten a lot cuter over the past few seasons, wouldn’t you agree? Mesh cut-outs is one of my favorites. Athleisure wear is actually one of the biggest trends impacting the fashion industry, and I am loving the collection by Tory Burch, making athleisure elegant and chic with a twist of country-club.
This year it is more than just about black leggings and a matching sports bra, and I can’t wait to see more of this sultry, yet casual trend!
This made all headlines last spring when Marc Fisher created the perfect dupe of the Chloe espadrille wedge and tall platforms (or flatforms) are not going anywhere just yet. For 2017, change up your footwear style with sky-high sandals, loafers, sneakers. Basically, if you decide to wear shoes in 2017 make sure you are at least a few inches off the ground 😉
I personally love flatforms because it gives the height I want and it is flat (no heel) so it stays comfortable all day! I have 3 pairs of the Marc Fisher espadrille and I love each and every one. This is also a warning that you may see them in every single blog and Instagram post for the rest of this year…
3. Exaggerated Everything
Ruffles, earrings, pendants, sleeves, shoulder pads…? Last year, we all went crazy over mustard hues and 70 styled prints, and though there were still some 70’s inspired pieces and prints on the runway, the 80’s dramatic glam was what stole the spotlight. At least for me, but then again I love dramatic pieces and ruffles. And when the two are combined… #swoon
Speaking of exaggerated, stripes is getting a makeover this year and is coming in all colors and sizes. Designers took the timeless print and 1. put it on everything from sweaters and jumpsuits to 2. making it bold and incorporating it with color blocking. So be ready to see lots of stripes in small print and statement prints, and have fun with it too!
5. Slogan Tees
Even as simple as a sweater with the word love that was seen by Michael Kors, brands this year are using their designs to create empowering messages, in a super chic way of course. Pairing a slogan tee with a pleated maxi skirt is one of the cutest go to looks for the warmer weather, and it looks great on all!
