I can never spell California without the tune to Yellowcard’s Back Home, or like bananas, try spelling that one without jamming out in your head to Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani…
And now I am listening to Yellowcard’s Ocean Avenue album and not finishing this post… #distracted
Hello and Happy Friday! Today is Ian’s birthday and I am so excited for all the activities planned for the weekend. One of the activities that is planned for he weekend is mountain biking. Ian is really good at extreme sports and I am really good at falling on my butt, so I am pretty anxious for this adventure to say the least! Ha
Speaking of being anxious, this outfit came to life when I couldn’t wait any longer to wear my cozy sweaters. To compromise with the California weather, I paired my sweater with an embellished mini skirt (similar here and here) and I fell in love with the combo!
The sweater and skirt duo is a fun alternative to fall fashion, especially on those days where the weather is indecisive.
Below I have listed 2 style tips to inspire you to rock this cozy fab look!
Style Tip #1: Textures
Pair your cotton sweaters with a pleated or suede skirt! A pleated maxi in blush will create a beautiful romantic look, while the suede mini gives off a mix of contemporary with a bit of vintage. The various textures and the many options are truly endless.
Style Tip #2: Patterns
Since sweaters are typically solid shades, add a little fun to the outfit by pairing the sweater with a printed skirt! Have you seen this cheetah print pencil skirt? Not only is it so amazing (and only $30!), it’ll look great with a black sweater and so perfect for fall!
