With my brother’s wedding in July and being the MOH for my cousin’s wedding in November, let’s just say the sound of wedding bells is everywhere I go. That’s the mini background story for today’s post, in case you were wondering, hah.
The other night, I was talking with my mom and it just seemed like we needed so many dresses. A dress for the reception dinner, a dress for the bridal shower, and so on and so forth. And that was just referring to my brother’s wedding. Add my cousin’s festivities and that adds to needing even MORE dresses!
So today on The Beautiful Melody, I will be sharing how to find a dress that you can wear to multiple events plus how you can dress it differently so you don’t feel like you are always wearing the same thing!
Let’s get started!
How to Find the Dress:
It is always a good idea to purchase something if you can get multiple uses out of it. It will make both you and your bank account feel a lot better about the decision. And it is no different when it’s time to find a dress to fit all the events in your calendar.
I can’t tell you the exact dress that you will get a lot of use out of because part of it has to do with personality. Example: a flowy floral maxi dress is beautiful and can be worn to more than just at a wedding a là the beach, brunch, Easter… But I may not get so much use out of it compared to a solid color shift dress with maybe some intricate detailing on it.
So all I can say is the first step is to know your style and to know how often you will actually wear it afterwards.
Don’t really know your style? That’s okay, that’s why I am here! I have rounded up below some of my favorite dresses that will look amazing for multiple occasions.
As you are shopping, keep in mind that you want to look for a dress that is both partially sweet and partially sophisticated. My dress above has the perfect balance of both with the sophisticated fit and trim, and with the bow detailing making it ultra sweet!
How to Wear the Same Dress for Multiple Occassion:
Accessories!! Shoes, jewelry, hairstyles, makeup, even handbags! All these items can really change the look of any outfit. Back to my outfit in today’s post. The fun bright colors and the espadrille wedges makes the look perfect for a spring wedding or even an evening dinner (that’s two different occasions right there 😉 ). Or you can elevate the sophistication by pairing the dress with a opened-toe sandal, stud earrings, a trench coat, and a tote bag. Now you are ready for the workplace!
I can probably spend all day in one outfit and changing up the accessories to find my favorite look, haha. Accessorizing is the fun part of styling your look and it is the main ingredient to taking the same outfit and making it look different every time!
Anyway, if you are still reading this thank you SO much for being a trooper. I hope this helps for any and all upcoming occasions you may have! And since you have stuck around, you are now rewarded with my handpicked dresses that can be worn on repeat!
