Summer time is fun for the long summer nights and the endless roadtrips, but sometimes the go-to summer look of shorts and a t-shirt can start to feel unstylish when being worn on repeat, and us fashionistas never want to feel unstylish!
So that is why I am so glad you have stopped by The Beautiful Melody today because, I am going to share 5 simple ways to incorporate layering into your summer style without melting like Olaf when he was standing too close to the fireplace…
Let’s get started, shall we!
LAYER SHEER PIECES WITH OPAQUE
A sheer blouse, in chiffon or lace, is a necessity for summer. The details and textures will naturally bring an alluring charm and with it’s lightweight material, it provides a breezy airflow to keep you cool during the warm summer days. To add a little more structure, add a loose blazer that will also bring a more polished look to your outfit, or a solid color body suit under a sheer dress for an edgy, more sexy appeal. #youdoyou
Style Secret: My shirt above is actually two tanks. I layered the top layer, that was sheer, with a white opaque tank underneath!
STACK YOUR JEWELS
As you know, I am a huge believer in accessories, for it is such an easy way to make a statement and to enhance your style. Lately I have been going crazy with the arm candy because, the more the merrier, right? Stacking bracelets, like this gorgeous set here, or layering multiple necklaces (I love this look too!) is such an easy way to layer your outfit without actually incorporating the layers in your clothing. #loophole
I love vests: short, long, boxy, lace, the style options are endless, which is why I love them. Layer a vest of your choosing with a sleeved top and sneakers for a casual vibe, or leave the arms completely exposed for more of a sauve, sophisticated approach. And for the ultimate summer look, pair a sleeveless denim vest with a lightweight dress or top. I told you, the options are endless! 🙂
Go from boring to boho princess in under 60 seconds! Living in California, I pretty much wear kimonos all year round, and then I wonder why I am cold when I am wearing one during fall… but they are just that fun and cute! They are seriously the easiest way to add print and a touch of uniqueness to your outfit, and because they are so lightweight you won’t even realize you are wearing an extra layer!
Again with a super easy way to incorporate print to your outfit is with scarves. I actually tend to wear scarves more when it’s warmer out, which seems silly, but I love lightweight scarves and they are a great accessory and the perfect addition to enhance your outfit!
I hope you enjoyed today’s post and got some inspiration on how to stay stylish during summer! Happy Friday and thank you so much for stopping by!
