Transitioning into Fall with Nordstrom

IMG_4735

Happy Monday! This past weekend I was so Pinteresty hah. I baked the most delicious cake ever! (As seen on my IG) and I also redecorated my room and moved around some mirrors and wall art, and even created a cute little hat wall! Fun fact about Kayla: she probably redecorates her room every other month… #designerproblems

Last night, Ian and I went on a evening stroll (okay, we were strolling around taking photos, but same thing, right?) and we started to notice that the days are already starting to get shorter. As much as I love Autumn, it made me sad because summer came and is about to leave before my eyes, and before I can squeeze in a few more vacays… But as sad as I am for it to go, I am super excited for boots, tights, and fall colors, and guess what?! I can slowly start incorporating those items into my outfits now, and so can you, so I thought I would share 3 tips on how to slowly transition your wardrobe from summer to fall!

1. The ShirtDress

Honestly, when in doubt, t-shirt dress…out. That was my terrible take on rhyming, but basically you can never go wrong with a t-shirt dress. It’s the LBD in the casual street-style world. Pair it with tights and boots on a cooler day, or opt for a cute pair of sandals if it is still warmer out. The loose fabric is perfect for layering as well as keeping cool when worn as a single layer. Olive is one of my favorite colors to wear in fall (sometimes I like to give my whites a break ha) and I am so excited to receive this lace-up shirt dress in the mail! ( Not even the Anniversary Sale can make me shop at department stores… #onlineshoppingforlife ). I selected a few of my favorites from the sale, all under $50!

2. The Peferct Pair of Jeans

The 17-20 year old Kayla would have never been caught wearing jeans. It was leggings or nothing, literally. But now as I am about to enter my mid-20s (gasp!), I have grown an appreciation for jeans and truly believe they add an effortlessly sophisticated look to your outfit when tailored to your body. Besides the great deals on the boots from the NSale, I also love the great deals you get on jeans! Nordstrom is one of my main sources for pants because the comfort and quality are quite amazing, and when they’re on sale, you just can’t beat that! Below I have selected a few of my favorites that I find flattering on all body shapes for less than $50 to under $100.

3. The Dainty Cute Flats

As the mornings and nights start to get cooler, swap out your sandals for a cute pair of flats! What’s great about flats is that even when the weather warms up during the day, your feet can still breathe, unlike boots where those are more optimal for once we enter Fall and it stays cool throughout the day. The Nordstrom sale has some really cute ones, like this one here, the lace-up cheetah is adorable and less than $100!

These oxford shoes, are listed under flats, though technically I wouldn’t consider them as flats ha, but regardless of what they are categorized under, these are too awesome not to share! I am personally loving that metallics are coming back 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you have a wonderful week! PS. I updated my website and added some color, can you find it? 😉 haha

Thank you! I know, I have never been much of a flats girl, but the lace-ups are to die for!
