7 Spring Fashion Staples For Every Age

Spring is officially among us, here in California. The flowers are blooming, the weather is beautiful and sunny one day and then pouring rain the next. Oh, and that constant feeling of congestion and watery eyes is upon us. That’s how you really know spring has arrived…

Throughout today’s post, I will be linking items at all price points, but since these are staple pieces do not feel guilty for splurging a little! What’s great about staple pieces is that they won’t go out of style in a few weeks, or even a few years, so invest in a good quality item that will last, so you can enjoy and wear endlessly!

Let’s find out the 7 spring staples for every age!

I love eyelet. It just screams girly and picnics to me. Actually anything during spring reminds me of picnics, but eyelet pieces especially.

The detailing is just so beautiful and really freshens up the look. If you are not the one who would typically categorize oneself as “girly”, opt for a deeper shade like navy. It will subdue the romantic vibes, while still being a very classic piece.

A dress is a springtime favorite. But what makes this particular dress a classically styled piece is the lightweight fabric and the crisp striping.

The vertical stripes will give the illusion that you’re elongated and much taller, and when you find one that cinches at the waist, it will make you very slimming. And who doesn’t want that…

The key to this dress looking simply polished is to find one that tailors your body. If you are petite, you don’t want to purchase one that has a ton of fabric or else it will be too much. And no one would probably see you under so much fabric.

Style Tip: If you purchase one that does not cinch or have a tie, add a skinny belt around the waist to accentuate the curved hem.

Everyone aspires to be an elegant ballerina, am I right?…

Ps. I also love these because they just make your feet look so cute!

You know I couldn’t have created a spring staple list without including a trench coat! It goes with everything. For more about trench coats, check out my previous blog post here, where I share 4 Reasons You Need a Trench Coat.

Also, for when the days are warmer, opt for a sleeveless trench. They are so adorable with a basic tee and a pair of shorts. It will instantly elevate and polish off the overall look!

Open-toed shoes are an essential to a spring outfit. Wedges are the perfect shoes that offer height and comfort while being outside on a sunny day.

As you may know, I am a HUGE fan of flatforms. I love the height and they are beyond comfortable. Sometimes I forget I am wearing heels and actually believe I am that tall. But then the day is over, shoes come off, and I am back to reality that I am only 5’3. Okay, 5’2 and a half…

The perfect bag to grab and go and will never weigh you down. (Ian loves when I use a crossbody because he knows he won’t be asked to carry it towards the end of the day…) Sole Society probably has one of the best selection of handbags and accessories!

I also found a dupe here for the Chloe crossbody! And it is currently on sale!

Spring is all about incorporating a fresh new take in your style. Consider the collarless button up, or blouse, just that. While still giving off a polished and sophisticated look, it also brings a fresh and relaxed vibe that I love.
