Roaming around was our favorite activity. We have no idea where this stream began, but it was sure beautiful with the changing of leaves surrounding it!

Basically the real life version of Genovia from The Princess Diaries haha. But seriously the beauty is unreal. And with so many activities and even a full game room, it’s a great place for kids!

Ian loves to stay mysterious, but how could I leave out a photo of him when this adventure was for his day of birth after all! Plus, just look how handsome he is. 😉

Thursday evening Ian and I flew to Utah and stayed up at the Montage in Deer Valley for his birthday. The Montage has the most stunning view of the mountains (it’s literally a castle on top of the mountain) and we had a lot of fun exploring within its vicinity and roaming the hotel, discovering all that the hotel had to offer (their indoor mosaic swimming pool is stunning!).

One of our favorite parts had to have been the s’mores and hot cocoa bar every night around the fire pits. They had a variety of flavored marshmallows and we totally felt like kids again having a great time roasting mallows and digesting way too much sugar hah.

Oh and speaking of sugar, every night during the turndown service, we received delicious chocolate truffles. Out of the 6 pieces of truffles, I think Ian may have only had half of one and I may or may not have had the rest… #turndownforwhat

Deer Valley is just right outside from Park City, which was fun to walk around the town and enjoy the beautiful landscape with the birch trees changing colors. You rarely see autumn foliage like that from where we are from. There’s also some great little boutiques and cafes to visit.

As we walked around I had to laugh at ourselves as I noticed the locals in light flannels and t-shirts walking around outside while we were bundled in layers and heavy coats. I don’t think we could’ve hid the fact that we were from California if we tried haha.

If you ever happen to visit Deer Valley, I highly recommend eating at the Apex inside the Montage. It was such a wonderful dining experience! We can’t wait to plan our next trip once it starts to snow. 🙂
